Branson
Known as the "Live Music Show Capital of the World," Branson, MO, is truly a one-of-a-kind family vacation destination — and an incredible value — with more than 50 live performance theaters, three pristine lakes, 12 championship golf courses, an award-winning theme park, dozens of attractions and museums, shopping galore, a full range of dining options, plus the comfortable, convenient and affordable lodging of Jaspers Hotels three national brand properties.
And in 2010, Branson is celebrating 50 years of family entertainment! Silver Dollar City is celebrating 50 years of entertaining families with events throughout the year and a new $7 million ride — Tom and Huck’s RiverBlast. And the Shepherd of the Hills Outdoor Drama also celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.
Branson is less than a day's drive for one-third of Americans, and with low-cost flights to the new Branson Airport, as well as Springfield-Branson National Airport, it's never been easier for your family or group to get to Branson.
In addition to the dozens of unique events and festivals we’ll be hosting in 2010, there are many exciting new attractions coming to the Branson area. A hideaway in the Ozark Mountains just south of Branson is being prepared for the Ozark Medieval Fortress, an entertaining and educational attraction encompassing a genuine fortified castle, with towers, a drawbridge, moats, and stone walls surrounding using the techniques and materials of the 12th century. And this Spring, a newly renovated Black Oak Mountain Amphitheater is reopening in nearby Lampe, MO featuring a full line-up of top Rock and Pop acts from the 1960-70's.
Prepare to Fly! Branson Zipline and Canopy Tour comes straight from the jungles of Costa Rica to the Branson forests. Get ready to soar through the trees on over one mile of ziplines and walkways while experiencing the splendor of the Ozark Mountains.
Within minutes of the bright lights of Branson, outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking, biking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, spelunking, rock climbing and other recreational activities. Area public parks, beaches, resorts, campgrounds, forests and recreational facilities abound.
The Branson Lakes Area features more than 200 miles of hiking, biking and horseback-riding trails. Also, the high-tech sport of geocaching is alive and well in the Ozarks, with dozens of caches hidden throughout the Branson Lakes Area.
